Gerald L. "Gerry" Black Gerald L. "Gerry Black is the son of founder James I. Black, Jr. and joined the family firm in 1975. He is currently the Vice President of James I. Black & Co., and has served in that capacity since 1985. With a finance degree from the University of Florida, Gerry has over 25 years of experience in assisting people of all ages to reach their financial goals. Born and raised in Lakeland, Gerry is an involved and active community member and maintains participation in multiple civic organizations. He is a past member of Lakeland South Rotary club and has served on the Board of Directors for both the Lakeland Family YMCA and the Boys and Girls Club of Lakeland. Further, he is a former Commodore of Lakeland Yacht and Country Club and the founder of the Tigertown Pig Festival charity event. Outside of Lakeland Gerry has been involved with the Safari Club International Conservation Fund and the Board of Trustees for the Alpha Tau Omega chapter at the University of Florida. Gerry has been married to his wife, Cheryl, for 29 years and they have two children, G.L. and Cassie.
